La neige d'avril

Dans les années quatre-vingt, lors d’une tardive tempête de neige d’avril, un citoyen interrogea le maire Réginald Scullion (Dieu ait son âme !) sur sa décision de ne pas envoyer les déneigeuses déblayer les rues et trottoirs. Il répondit dans son accent anglophone caractéristique :

«Mon ami, sache que le Bon Dieu l’a amenée ; le Bon Dieu va la rapporter.»

Toujours en perte de poids, mais un peu au ralenti. Encore quelques livres, et je devrai m'acheter de nouveaux vêtements.

J'ai relu mon billet 2007, l'école et les TIC. 6 ans plus tard, à part quelques bébelles (tablettes, TBI, smartphones), pas de changements. Le scolaire ne comprend pas que l'important au regard des tic, c'est que ce soit L'ÉLÈVE qui manipule tout le temps les outils.
Inspiré par cette relecture, j'ai écrit quelques gazouillis :

• À quand un véritable débat sur l'échec de l'intégration des TIC au secondaire? (Bien sûr, faut définir «intégration»...)
• J'estime à 99% la proportion d'élèves du niveau secondaire qui, en cadre scolaire, n'utilisent presque jamais les TIC pour créer.
• À l'école en 2013, où sont les élèves qui se servent des TIC pour amplifier leurs pensées et pas seulement consommer des données?

Échecs

9.5/16, c'est mon score au Championnat Blitz de l'Outaouais. C'est beaucoup mieux que mes deux précédents tournois et j'estime que c'est surtout parce qu'on jouait avec une incrémentation de 2 secondes. Au premier tournoi, on jouait avec 5 minutes sans incrémentation. Au second, il y avait un délai non cumulable de 2 secondes avant de jouer. À mon avis, jouer avec incrémentation est beaucoup plus intéressant n'ajoutant, au pire, que quelques minutes à chaque partie.

Kramnik: [...] the more you penetrate into the things, the less you can understand them. Chess is a good example here. When you begin to understand a game of chess in its full depth, you find that certain rules become blurred. Suddenly you feel that one needs to create a little space here and attack there. But why it is like that, you don’t know. To play according to textbooks is fine, up to a certain level. Perhaps up to master level, but not to grandmasters. At this level you have to feel the game. It comes to you.
Spiegel Online: How does that feel?
Kramnik: At some stage you feel you are the master of a game. Sometimes you do not have to think that much. You ponder some of the details, but the greater strategy simply comes to you in certain situation. It is astonishing. I like things you cannot touch.
Spiegel Online: Does that compensate for the sacrifices you must make?
Kramnik: Easily. When you master a brilliant game, which will appear in chess books for hundreds of years and when your hand simply makes the next move intuitively….., that is a marvellous feeling.
Spiegel Online: Are you a genius?
Kramnik: I am pretty talented.
Spiegel Online: Once again so modest.
Kramnik: You know, sometimes I think I have understood a position, but after a couple of years I realize that I have understood nothing. That is what is so mysterious and fascinating about chess. You have a board with 64 squares, and it is so deep that not even ten Kramniks can know which is the best move. Sometimes you simply feel lost. You cannot feel the ground.
Spiegel Online: Are you afraid of the depth?
Kramnik: It is sometimes painful. You simply cannot reach the ground. This ground or call it final truth, if it exists at all, is not of humans.
